This is a start-to-finish jewelry lesson on the xTool F1 Ultra using stainless steel test cards and a necklace blank. I’m not handing you one magic setting. I want you to have a process you can repeat on silver, gold-plated and rose-gold-plated blanks.
I use the fiber source because it’s made for marking metal. I also explain the difference between annealing, which heats stainless steel to leave a smooth dark mark, and deeper engraving, which removes material and can leave an edge that catches delicate clothing.
In xTool Creative Space, I build test grids, pick a font, size and align the design, compare speed and power combinations and use framing and Smart Fill before I touch the real necklace. Test cards give you dozens of tries for about what one blank costs, so that’s the place to figure out your settings.
Then I move the settings I picked over to the necklace, align it and mark it in real time. The same testing approach works on the original F1, just with different starting settings, because understanding your material and your test process matters more than copying a preset.
