This is a step-by-step guide to engraving stainless steel jewelry with the xTool F1. I cover testing your material, setting up the design in xTool Studio and getting the engraving to look right.
The F1 doesn’t have enough power for annealing, so that’s off the table here. Instead, I show you how to make test cards, use Smart Fill to save time and adjust your settings until you get the results you want.
I also go over framing the design in xTool Studio, using user-defined processing to speed up engraving and adjusting power and speed for gold, silver and rose-gold finishes. Along the way, I talk about working with confidence and adding personal touches that set your work apart.
My biggest piece of advice is to test on the exact jewelry finish you’re using, frame carefully and pull your speed and power from a material test. Don’t assume one setting works for gold, silver and rose gold.
