The xTool M2 is a desktop laser that can cut and engrave, but it also has a CMYK color printing module. I wanted to share my first impressions and run some beginner projects to see how those features actually work.
I unbox it, set it up and calibrate the camera. I also go through the vibration calibration and show the magnetic hold-downs for your material.
For my first tests, I print on paper, try print-then-cut on basswood and attempt a color print on slate. The slate color print didn’t work out, so I did a photo engraving on slate instead.
This isn’t a full review. I’m still figuring out where the CMYK printing makes sense and what products I could make with it, and a more complete review will come after more testing.
