The xTool P3 is an industrial CO2 laser that’s billed as beginner-friendly, and I wanted to see if that holds up. I take it from unboxing all the way to a finished project in wood and acrylic.
I put together the mobile work stand, add the antifreeze and water and run the first startup. Then I use the automatic material recognition in xTool Studio and make a full wall sign out of TruFlat plywood.
Setup was easy, the camera system works well and the 80W laser has plenty of power for bigger projects. Even with that much power, the machine is straightforward enough that I think a beginner could handle it.
If you’re looking at the P3 or just got one, this should give you a good starting point before you get into your own cutting and engraving projects.
