Monport K40 40W CO2 laser with Lightburn unboxing and setup

I unbox and set up the Monport K40 40W CO2 laser with LightBurn, then test fire it and talk about how it compares to diode lasers.

This is my unboxing of the Monport K40 CO2 laser. It works with LightBurn out of the box and comes with several other useful additions.

I walk through the outside of the machine, the CW-3000 chiller and the exhaust, then do a test fire using the ammeter test in LightBurn. I also take a quick look at the inside.

The extra power lets it cut a lot faster than a diode laser, which is why I reach for it for a lot of jobs in my shop. I have mirror alignment and air assist install videos coming up next.

If you’ve been using a diode laser and want more cutting speed and power, the K40 with LightBurn is a solid step up.
