# The Secret to Perfect Jewelry Alignment on xTool Lasers

Getting an engraving centered on a necklace or keychain can be frustrating. This
is the process I use on the xTool F1, F1 Ultra and F2 Ultra to get it centered consistently
every time.

I measure the circle or rectangle with calipers and then draw a matching shape in
xTool Studio. From there, I set up alignment shapes and text for both round keychains
and rectangular necklaces and show the framing options in the software.

I also talk about which framing options to choose, how to make adjustments so the
piece sits right on the laser bed and the mistakes I see people make with alignment.
Most of them come down to measuring carefully and taking your time with the setup.

Once you have this down, you’ll spend less time fiddling with placement and get 
cleaner, more consistent results on your jewelry.
